What a season it has been at Anchored in Jesus! Our hall is busier than ever, and once again we have seen God’s faithful hand in everything. Here is what has been happening, and how you can be part of it.
God’s provision
By God’s grace we are now serving more than 300 meals a week to our children, and the meals are diverse and healthy. We currently have 40 registered children who come every day after school to study with us.
God provided so abundantly that we could also share our provision with our parents, and with other NPOs that care for the aged, the disadvantaged and the abused. It is a joy to give out of what He has given us.
We are also thankful that, after a long process, our ministry bank account is finally open. You can now give directly to the ministry (see the banking details below).
Growing in the Word
Our weekly Bible studies have started, led by De Wet. Our Sunday church service is still small, but it is growing every week, and we are grateful for every person who walks through our doors. Everyone is welcome on Sundays at 10:00.
Thank you
So many people have helped us. Our heartfelt thanks go to:
- Eckert and Rienie from ERB, for setting up and donating our accounting system, and for donating the blinds in our hall
- Pieter and Chantelle from Spring Forest Plumbing, for the plumbing for our new basin and dishwasher
- Jaco, for getting our building set up for a generator. With all the power outages, this is a big deal!
- Fish and Bread Ministry, for the donation of glasses
- Ziyanda and Martie, for helping with the after-school programme
- Simphiwe, for cooking with us every single day
- Zulu and Ayanda, for spring-cleaning our church and hall
- BEE, for presenting a wonderful Youth Evening
- Our parents, for helping at the ministry and helping us care for the children of your communities
- A close friend of the ministry, for a very generous donation
And well done to Laetitia, who took the plunge for Helpende Hande!

How you can help
Right now we need:
- A gate motor for the ministry entrance
- 4 security cameras to keep the children and the premises safe
- Meat for one meal a week for the children
- Christmas decorations for our Christmas events
- Volunteers to help the children with homework after school
Longer term, we are trusting God for:
- A borehole
- Solar panels and batteries, to keep running costs low and the kitchen going during power outages
If you can help with any of these, or know someone who can, please get in touch.
